Formal City Council Meeting

Item 81:  Human Service Campus Request*

*Phoenix City Council is trying to kill police accountability on February 17th. Last week, Council voted to block Andre House from opening a new shelter for people who have been pushed out of existing shelters. That same week, Phoenix Police went viral for ANOTHER racist scandal. Councilmembers Williams, Waring, and DiCiccio wrote a formal request to reallocate the Office of Accountability and Transparency (*OAT) funding to homelessness. There is currently $27 million sitting there to help our unsheltered neighbors at the city.  This is a clear effort to eliminate accountability for a police department that has a long history of brutality and racism. We, the residents of Phoenix, deserve BOTH accountability and resources to help our unsheltered neighbors. Sign up to speak virtually at Formal Council Wednesday, Feb. 17th at 2:30pm.
